Linear Patterns

For the purposes of explanation, reference the above diagram for the linear forms.  You would start all linear forms on the red "X", facing "C".

 

Linear Form #1

  1. Step Right foot back into fighting position, execute a right front snap kick placing the kicking leg down in front.  Step the left leg to the right, and execute a right roundhouse kick placing the kicking leg down into a front stance.  Follow with a left reverse punch.
  2. Step back with the front foot into a right front stance.  Execute a right low block.  Quickly rechamber, and execute a right high block.
  3. Execute a left leg front snap kick.  Placing the kicking leg down in front, pivot on the right foot clockwise 180° toward "D", and execute a twin knifehand guarding block in a left back stance.
  4. Step the left foot to the right and execute a right side kick.  Place the kicking foot down in front.
  5. Step the left foot along side the right forming a closed stance, execute a right vertical hammerfist strike to the side (facing "B", striking toward "D").
  6. Without changing foot position look to the left and execute a left vertical hammerfist strike to the side (facing "B", striking toward "C").
  7. Execute a right roundhouse kick toward "C", placing kicking leg down in front, into a left back stance and execute a right horizontal knifehand strike to the throat.

Linear Form #2

  1. Step right foot back into a right back stance while executing outward inner forearm block.
  2. Step left foot back into a left back stance while executing a right inward inner forearm block.
  3. Execute a reverse punch with the left hand.
  4. Execute a left front snap kick, placing the kicking leg down in front.
  5. Step right leg to left, and execute a left leg hook kick.
  6. Turning clockwise, execute a right back kick toward "C".  The kicking leg should end up in a right front stance.  Simultaneously execute a right horizontal knifehand strike to the neck.
  7. Spinning on the right foot, turn counter-clockwise and execute a left spinning backfist.
  8. Spinning on the left foot, turn clockwise and execute a right spinning backfist.
  9. Execute a pump jumping front kick with the right foot.

Linear form #3

  1. Step right foot back into a right back stance while executing outward inner forearm block.
  2. Step left foot back into a left back stance while executing a right inward inner forearm block.
  3. Execute a left leg side kick toward "C".  Putting kicking leg down in front.
  4. Step right foot to left and execute a left leg hook kick, placing kicking leg down in front.
  5. Execute a right back kick, placing right foot down into a right front stance.  Simultaneously execute a right vertical backfist strike.
  6. Step left foot along side the right and execute a right side kick.
  7. Execute a left 360° jumping hook kick using both legs to jump. The kicking leg returns to rear position.

Linear Form #4

  1. Step back into right foot back fighting position.
  2. Execute jab punch and reverse punch in rapid succession.
  3. Execute a right leg roundhouse kick towards "C".
  4. Spinning counter-clockwise, execute a left leg spinning hook kick toward "C".  Place kicking leg down in front.
  5. Execute a right 360° jumping hook kick using both legs to jump. The kicking leg returns to rear position.

Linear form #5

  1. Step back into right foot back fighting position.
  2. Execute a right front snap kick, placing kicking leg down in front.
  3. Rapidly step left leg to right and execute a right axe kick.  Place kicking leg down in front.
  4. Turning counter-clockwise, execute a left back kick toward "C", placing kicking leg down in front. 
  5. Execute a right inward crescent kick, placing kicking leg down in front.
  6. Execute a left back kick, placing kicking leg down in front.
  7. Execute a right 360° jumping hook kick using both legs to jump. The kicking leg returns to rear position.
